Sports Sign Three!

Last week ended wth a busy couple of days at the Don Amott Arena, with manager John McGrath making three signings in before Saturday’s match at AFC Sudbury.

With Fin Delap having been recalled by Burton Albion, 17 year old Will Tamen has now arrived from the Brewers, on loan until the end of the season.

Tamen is a centre back to and has been captain of the development squad. He signed professional last September and made his league debut against Peterborough Utd. He also came on as a sub in the EFL Cup games against Everton Under 21’s and Blackpool.

Kyle Rowley is also an experienced centre back, who has joined us from Barwell. He is a former Walsall Junior and played for Sutton Coldfield, Alvechurch, Hednesford and Stourbridge too.

Finally left side midfielder Brendon Daniels has arrived on loan from Stourbridge, who he joined at the start of this season.

He played his Junior football with Crewe, Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers and played in League One with Port Vale. He is a former England C International and has played for Tamworth, Harrogate, Fylde, Alfreton, Altrincham and Telford too.

Tamen went straight into the starting line-up at Sudbury, while both Rowley and Daniels were unused subs.

A big welcome awaits all three players at Mickleover FC.

New Striker For Mickleover

Mickleover signed former Notts County and Lincoln City striker Tyrell Waite from Ilkeston on the eve of Saturday’s game at home to Barwell Town.

The Derby born striker started his career with Ilkeston, before a three year spell at Notts County. After a number of loan spells he moved to Lincoln City, before heading for Sweden.

He came back to the UK with Nuneaton Borough and after various other moves, was back at Nuneaton again at the start of last season. 

He joined Ilkeston in September and is a welcome addition to the Mickleover strikeforce.

A Message from Coalville Town

Can you all please be aware that construction of our new 3G training point has commenced, this means that car parking is currently restricted on site. There will be parking for the coach, and cars for club officials and match officials but it will be restricted for supporters. Any away supporters should park in the public car parks in the town which are a 5-10 minute walk.

Quakers Defender On A Month’s Loan

Mickleover have signed former Coventry City Junior Blaine Rowe on a month’s loan from National League North Darlington. During his time with the Sky Blues he also had experience with Ayr Utd and Falkirk in the Scottish Championship and League One in two loan spells.

He had a brief stay at Barwell following his release and signed for Darlington in October.

Ram’s Keeper On A Month’s Loan

Derby County’s Wales Under 18 and 19 International goalkeeper Lewis Ridd has joined Mickleover on a months loan, having debuted last week in the 5-1 over Long Eaton Utd.

Ridd started out at Swansea City, moving to Ipswich in July 2020. During his time with the Tractor Boys, he was loaned out to AFC Sudbury, Bury Town and Brightlingsea, ending his three-years with the club in August.

He has been part of Derby’s Under 21 squad this season.
